Steven F. Tello is an Assistant Professor in the College of Management. His research interests include technology innovation and management, educational leadership, assessment in online education, and technology-facilitated management education. Current research projects include:
  • examination of technology commercialization success factors,
  • developing understanding of the technology commercialization process,
  • application of Web 2.0 technologies to Management Education,
  • the impact of embedded assessment in web-enhancded courses.

Prof. Tello's course load at the University includes technology innovation and management, leadership processes and business ethics.

Dr. Tello has extensive experience in the development and delivery of technology training and education for both college and K-12 faculty. He founded the University’s online program in 1996 and over saw all aspects of it’s operation and development, including course evaluation and assessment, until his transition to the College of Management in 2005, where he continues to assist in these activities. He initiated the development of the University’s Online Teaching Institute, which won the prestigous 2005 Sloan Consortium Award for Excellence in Online Faculty Development. Most recently, he co-directed the Uinversity's EOutcomes Project, a Davis Educational Foundation funded project which used an online course management system to collect learning outcomes data across academic programs.

 

Dr. Tello has taught as an adjunct faculty member in the University’s Multimedia Certificate Program and has conducted numerous workshops and trainings on the use of multimedia, the Internet and the World Wide Web as a teaching tool.  Professional affiliations include the M2D2, Academy of Management, Information Resources Management Association and the Sloan-C Consortium for Asynchronous Learning Networks.
